“Oakbank Area School is a positive place for all students and staff to learn and work together with a focus on achievement and continual improvement.”

Bruce Oerman, Principal

Who We Are

The Oakbank Area School named in 1944 (formerly known as Oakbank Consolidated School) was formed when the two primary schools of Balhannah and Oakbank were merged in 1938.

Located between these two picturesque towns, our school is the only Reception to Year 12 state school in the Adelaide Hills providing holistic education and an effortless transition into secondary education.

Our caring staff encourage our 300 students to build on their personal strengths and abilities to develop positive and respectful relationships.

What We Do

We offer our 300 students a comprehensive broad based learning program with a progressive curriculum that allows individuals to discover and develop new skills, ideas and competencies for transition into tertiary studies or employment.

Our major focus is developing students to take responsibility for their own learning in a caring, safe and family environment. We are committed to student achievement of SACE, an ATAR or a vocational placement. We value excellence and are proud of our achievements.
