In this subject students respond to and create texts in and for a range of personal, social, cultural, community and/or workplace contexts.
Students understand and interpret information, ideas, and perspectives in texts and consider ways in which language choices are used to create meaning.
Content of the subject centres on ways in which students use language to establish and maintain connections with people in different contexts.

• Creating Texts x 2 50%
Students should produce four assessment tasks with at least one assessment task being an oral or multimodal presentation, and at least one assessment being in written form.
Different text types are read, responded to and created in Essential English B than they were in Essential English A.
Length: One Semester.
