The focus of the learning program is on Industry and Work Knowledge and Vocational Learning.
Topics undertaken include:
• The Value of Unpaid Work to Society
• Workers’ Rights and Responsibilities
Students negotiated community based volunteer work is used to assess their performance in Vocational Learning.
There will be a significant emphasis on Work Health and Safety throughout the course and students will be expected to reflect on their learning both in the volunteer workplace and from their experiences in the subject.

Length: One Semester.
SACE Attainment: 10 Credits.
Delivery Mode: Onsite, face to face, with excursions and guest speakers.
Costing: $10 to cover transport costs for excursions.
Additional Information: Assessment Task Two requires students to attend an excursion looking at community agencies that have large numbers of volunteer workers.
Assessment Task Three requires students to undertake 30-40 hours of negotiated volunteer work.
