• Practical Skills and Application: Practical’s will be negotiated to cater for different skills, interests and needs and to maximize the opportunity for success. In practical’s, students participate in regular physical activity and participate and refine their physical skills and techniques. Students are required to demonstrate a sense of fair play, respect the rights of others and show care and safety for equipment. Each practical will be worth 10% of the final grade. Half of this will be for the actual practical and half for a written reflection which is required on the practical (this reflection will highlight students’ development, feelings, strengths and weaknesses experienced during the practical to a maximum of 1000 words).
• Group Activity: Students complete an online coaching course. They then work in groups to apply knowledge from this online course to plan a series of practical sport lessons to teach to primary aged students. Students are required to complete a written report/reflection on the process, implementation and success of these lessons.
• Folio/Discussion: Students are required to keep a journal of their personal learning throughout the course. This should be updated every couple of weeks. At the end of the course students will use this journal to participate in a small group discussion based on their learning, communication and development throughout the course.
