Welcome to the Oakbank School community. We have been meeting the educational needs of children and young people from Reception to Year 12 in a picturesque and safe hills setting since 1944. We are located in-between the hills towns of Oakbank and Balhannah and only a 10 minute drive from the Hahndorf freeway exit.

I am thrilled to be leading Oakbank School and am committed to continue to build our school as an Adelaide Hills school of choice for our local families.

As an educator and leader for more than 25 years, and a mother of four for even longer, I understand there are few moment in life as significant as your child starting a new school; as a new reception student, going into high school or as part of moving house.

As parents and carers, we want our children to grow up to be capable, resilient adults; who are confident and adaptable, and well prepared for life beyond school. At Oakbank School our team of teachers, wellbeing staff and support staff guide our students to embrace their natural curiosity for learning and life. We provide our students with a holistic education and, as an R-12 school, a seamless transition into secondary school at Year 7.

Our Primary staff provide a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy including teaching reading via an evidence based synthetic phonics program.

Across the Secondary school we are committed to providing personalised pathways for our students to achieve, including SACE completion, an ATAR or a vocational placement. We value equity and excellence and are proud of our students’ achievements.

Alumni of Oakbank School go on to contribute in various and meaningful way in our local community, as well as across the wider world. They give back to their communities and the planet in meaningful ways.
