School-to-work opportunities @Oakbank  

Ø      All year 10 students spend a week in term 2 undertaking work experience after an Induction and a Mock Interview.

Ø      All year 11 students spend a week in term 2 undertaking work experience.

Ø      Students undertaking Community Studies at Stage 1 are allowed to attend a workplace as part of their studies following negotiation

Ø      Stage 2 Community Studies students must spend a percentage of their unit time in the workplace

Ø      Work Education Stage 1 students must spend a percentage of their unit time in a workplace environment.

Ø      VET students nearly always have a workplace learning component built into their course

Ø      Students at risk/with a disability are supported to access a one-day a week work experience if and as required, following negotiation.

  

Overview Transition Plan

 The Transition Plan is a sequential record of a student’s investigation into such areas as:

• The way they learn
• The variety of employment options
• VET programs
• Work experiences
• Personal skills and abilities
• Resume and Job applications
• Employability skills
• TAFE and University options
• Job investigations
• Apprenticeship information etc.
• Exit plan

This information is gathered at Meeting/Pastoral care times during the year and is placed in a folder which is used by the student at Interviews etc.
