Special Education Class

Student Wellbeing and Home.

The Special Class provides a supportive learning environment for students with disabilities in a small group setting, where they are able to receive a high degree of professional curriculum support and personal care.

Curriculum areas are experienced through play and active participation in accordance with their individual Negotiated Education Plan. Some students are integrated into appropriate classes in a variety of curriculum areas.

The students in the Special Class also have access to specialist curriculum areas within the school, including Home Economics, Technology, Computing, Gym and the School Farm, and attend swimming lessons in Terms 1 and 4.  They participate in whole sub-school activities with the junior school and attend assemblies.

We are committed to working with parents and all inter-agency personnel in the planning and reviewing of the Negotiated Education Plan.

The students have access to our school buses or taxi support to and from school.
